Decentralized Autonome Organisation

Manifesto of the Autonomous State of Rasta Rica
Preamble: The Vision of Rasta RicaWe, the founders and supporters of Rasta Rica, hereby declare the birth of a new autonomous state, inspired by the roots of Costa Rica’s indigenous peoples and the eternal principles of Rastafari. Rasta Rica is a living reality. Our capital, Wolaba, named after the spirit of unity and peace, is located in the Talamanca region and is destined to become a beacon of freedom, sustainability, and spiritual upliftment. Amidst the lush nature of Costa Rica, we are building a society that rejects Babylon—the system of oppression, capitalism, and environmental destruction—and instead embraces Livity: a life in harmony with Sibu and Jah (God), nature, and the community. We honor and integrate the cultures of the indigenous peoples of the Talamanca region, particularly the Bribri, Cabécar, Boruca, and Ngäbe, whose deep connection to the Earth and spiritual traditions seamlessly blend with our values—a bridge between African Rastafari roots and the ancient wisdom of Central America. Pura Vida merges with Rastafari and indigenous heritage—peace, love, and respect for all living beings.Wolaba will be the heart of this vision, a city of innovation where technology and spirituality go hand in hand. Here, cannabis is not regarded as a drug but as a sacramental herb that expands consciousness and promotes healing, in alignment with Ital living, natural medicine, and the healing plant knowledge of the Bribri and Cabécar.Core Principles: The Pillars of Rasta RicaOur society is founded on the fundamental values of the indigenous groups and Rastafari, complemented by modern elements of autonomy and digitalization, as well as the integrated wisdom of the Talamanca cultures. These principles guide our actions:1.  Love for Sibu, Jah, and Neighbor: The two great commandments—love for God and love for neighbor—form the moral foundation. Every citizen of Rasta Rica commits to living with respect, compassion, and unity. Haile Selassie I is revered as a living God and a symbol of African dignity, yet we extend this to a universal spirituality that embraces all cultures, including the Bribri and Cabécar cosmovision, which honors Sibu as the creator God and views the Earth as a sacred space.2.  Livity and Ital Living: We celebrate daily life as rooted in African heritage and culture. A clean, pure life means nourishment from fresh, organic, locally grown products. No chemical additives, no exploitation of the Earth. In Wolaba, community gardens and farms will be the heart of food security, inspired by the traditional land management of the Boruca and Ngäbe, who practice sustainable agriculture and biodiversity conservation to strengthen Livity through rituals, meditation, and self-reflection.3.  Rejection of Babylon and Return to Nature: Rasta Rica strives for a return to roots and justice, while incorporating the indigenous perspective of the Bribri and Cabécar, who resist colonialism as the destruction of their sacred territories. Environmental destruction is a crime; we protect biodiversity and promote renewable energies, guided by the Talamanca groups’ knowledge of medicinal plants and harmonious coexistence with nature.4.  Equality and Gender Roles: In Rasta Rica, there is no oppression based on gender, race, or origin. Women and men share responsibilities equally, inspired by Rastafari ethics and the matrilineal structures of the Bribri, where women are guardians of knowledge and community, playing a central role. Education and empowerment for all are paramount.5.  Rastafuturism and Innovation: We combine traditional Rastafari principles with futurism—technology as a tool for liberation. Blockchain for decentralized governance, cryptocurrencies for a fair economy, and AI for sustainable development. Rastafuturism means advancing Livity through global connectivity, enriched by indigenous innovations such as the artisanal craft of Boruca masks and Ngäbe textiles, which strengthen cultural identity.Governance: Decentralized and DemocraticRasta Rica is governed as a decentralized autonomous state, based on DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) principles. Every citizen receives a digital token representing voting rights and ownership. Decisions are made through consensus in online forums and offline in Wolaba, with guidance from indigenous elders of the Bribri, Cabécar, Boruca, and Ngäbe to integrate traditional consensus models. No military, only peaceful defense through diplomacy and community. Laws are based on the core principles; violations are resolved through mediation, not punishment.Wolaba, as the capital, will be a model city: solar-powered buildings, community centers for reggae music, meditation, and education, incorporating indigenous rituals such as Bribri ceremonies and those of other groups.Economy: Sustainable and Crypto-BasedOur economy is Ital and fair: local production, trade with cryptocurrencies, and crowdfunding for projects. The cannabis economy is both sacramental and economic, regulated for healing and export, combined with indigenous trade such as Boruca crafts. No capitalism, but cooperatives and UBI (Universal Basic Income) through community funds.Culture and Community: Celebration of LifeReggae is our anthem, dreadlocks our symbol of freedom. Festivals honor Sibu, Jah, nature, and unity, expanded to include celebrations of indigenous traditions such as the Boruca Fiesta de los Diablitos or Cabécar myths. Education teaches Rastafari history, African roots, digital skills, and the heritage of the Talamanca groups—their languages, cosmologies, and art forms. The global diaspora is welcome—Rasta Rica is part of a worldwide movement connecting indigenous and African cultures.Call to Action: Join Rasta RicaJoin us!
